Loot System Overhaul

Atlas uses the base loot system from UE4.
This unfortunately has some points that make it unnecessarily complex and ensure that loot can be unbalanced and frustrating.
We change that!
With our proprietary Loot Engine, we create Balanced Loot that follows clear paths!
No more Unique Cannons with 100% dmg!
No legendary items that are better than mythical or unique, if you get a unique BP you can be sure it's good!
Speaking of BP, that's what this season is all about (I hate that word, but I can't think of a better one) you'll hardly find any finished parts.
However, you can find BPs for this purposefully, because each part now has clear sources:
- Factions & SeaChests Ship Parts & Cannons
- Structures from camps
- Armor & Weapons from Haunted Chests
- Treasure maps still give gold
- Wrecks give you music, food and gold

Important to know: Unique will be very rare to find! Also the chance for Unique exists exclusively with Endgame activities!

Dev Note: "Treasure Maps still give gold" Unfortunately, it is no longer possible to give you blueprints via Treasure Maps, as they would not follow the same rules as all other sources. So we couldn't guarantee balanced items here, and would have to keep the quality equivalent so low that it wouldn't be worth it. Also, we could not spend resources based on quality and would be forced to keep them low and uninteresting. For this reason, we decided to significantly increase the amount of gold and remove blueprints from the loot pool.

Blueprint Grinding

Of course, with such major changes, there still needs to be a "purpose" for the grinder and here it is:
Blueprints can be broken down into Blueprint Scraps in the Grinder.
The quantity depends on the quality of your BP:
Fine - 2
Journeyman - 4
Masterwork - 8
Legendary - 16
Mythical - 32
Unique - 64
You can improve a selected BP by one quality level using Blueprint Scraps, all values are re-rolled in the higher quality.
Cost:
Fine -> Journeyman - 120 Scraps + 500 Gold
Journeyman -> Masterwork - 240 Scraps + 1k Gold
Masterwork -> Legendary - 480 Scraps + 4k Gold
Legendary -> Mythical - 960 Scraps + 5k Gold
Mythical -> Unique - 5760 Scraps + 30k Gold

New PS System

In the future, you will start with all 9 Powerstones.
Of course, there are still bosses, which drop a PowerstonePearl upon death.
You need 3 different ones to activate the Kraken V1, 6 for the Kraken V2 and 9 for the Kraken V3. For the Challenge Mode you also need this and a Frozen Pearl.
For the Leviathan, 5 PowerstonePearls and two Frozen Pearls are due.

Elite opponents

In the future, you can encounter so-called elite on Powerstone Island.
These are not aggressive, but only attack if they are attacked first or animals of the same type draw aggro.
Elite have different, quite dangerous abilities that make killing them more difficult.
If you successfully kill them, you will receive 1-2 saddle blueprints in quality
Elite have 2 abilities, with several to choose from:
- Berserk: With decreasing HP the damage increases more and more
- Fireball: Hurls fire projectiles at enemies at regular intervals
- Explosion: Explodes after death
- Thorns: Part of the damage is reflected

Module system for ships

Ships now have the option to be equipped with modules.
Initially, 3 modules (Keel, Bow, Spirit) will be available.
These come in the following variants:

  • Transporter +Weight
  • Ramming +++RammDmg -Dmg (Trireme Only)
  • Hauler +++Weight -Resistance (Steamship Only)
  • Durable +Resistance
  • Glass canon ++Dmg, -Resistance
  • Fighter +Dmg
  • Tank ++Resistance -Dmg

As you can see, these modules improve your ship, but the effect is much stronger with modules that also have a negative value.
Once you have installed modules in your ship, you can only remove them from the ship again for a fee (gold) or destroy them (free of charge).
The cost depends on the quality of the module and can range from 100 to 5000 gold.

Resource conversion

The resource conversion was abolished again!
This was mainly to protect infrequent resources from GS updates, but we can now ensure this technically.

Ship upgrades

From now on you can upgrade ships in the Maintenance Dock!
Gone are the days when ships had to be rebuilt to shine in 180% or 200% Shipquality
Put your ship into the maintenance dock, put the ship blueprint and the necessary resources into the dock and "craft" the blueprint!

Lumi sources

Due to the "Blueprint Meta" Lumi will take a much more important role.
Accordingly, there will be lumi from many other sources such as boss fights, however, lumi whales remain a worthwhile cause as they are the ONLY source that scales with events and harvest boosts.

Camp revision

Camps will change a lot and hopefully become much more interesting as a result:
- Camps spawn randomly in the grid, of course making sure that a camp spawns in the most sensible places and not too close to players' bases.
- Both animals and NPCs on guns can cause damage, go Crazy!
- Camps now all belong to the Buccaneers faction, so your standing no longer has any influence here and you can "raid" any camp you find.
- Camps now have a kind of "bubble" surrounding them, outside of which you cannot harm the camp / NPCs, nor can they harm you. Camp NPCs cannot leave the bubble - so the battle takes place exclusively inside the dome.
- Camps now appear in quality, depending on this you will have stronger enemies and guns, as well as better / worse loot.

Land Cannon Rework

Of course, to fight the camps still need a good armament, because carts, of course, are not always suitable.
The Land Cannon will automatically become a moving object after placement, which you can move, once you are satisfied with the position, you can man the Cannon and fire it.
It is not possible to move the cannon and shoot at the same time.
The cannon can be picked up again at any time (E-Menu: Pack Up Mobile Land Cannon) and keeps its current durability!
So what advantages does the Land Cannon offer to a cart with a cannon?
- Portability: The Pack Up function allows you to take the gun with you with any animal
- Damage: Mobile Land Cannons can never benefit from ship buffs, so they can be found as blueprints with up to 300% damage (Normal Cannons only up to 230%).

Voting revision

Due to all the adjustments, of course, new Vote Rewards are necessary!
The Vote Lootbox still exists, only its content has been changed.
It can now contain the following items: Sails, planks or parts of ships, armor, weapons, cannons, tools and saddles contain. Anything from gray to legendary is possible in terms of quality.

Mini Game Rewards

The rewards of the minigames have also changed:
Arena: Tools, Gear, Weapons, Saddles
Fishing: ship parts, sails, ship blueprints, modules
With a quality from Fine to Mythical

Caves & Endgame

As we started last season, we'll keep challenging you with our Caves, especially in the direction of the Endgame.
While our Caves are already partially possible in the midgame, the bosses located there will make you sweat even in the endgame, especially in hardmode.

Quest system

Standing cost for looting faction ships reduced by 50%
Maximum standing increased to 1200 ("maximum loot" at 1000, the rest is reserve)
Quest Sharing:
- Quests can be shared with a maximum of 3 other players in the future, this only works if the quest was completed to less than 50%
- The quest requirement increases by a factor of 1.3 with each player.
- If a player cancels the quest, this factor is not reduced again and the shared space is "used up"
To share a quest with others, you only have to go to them and offer them the quest via radial menu (Share Quest). If your counterpart accepts the quest, he will receive it. Also, the request for you and your new helper will be updated directly, other players who already share the quest will receive the updated request through Fasttravel, Suicide or Grid-Travel!

Magic wand

You can now get quality wands.
They have 4 possible stats: Damage, Durability, Mana Capacity, Mana Regeneration
The crafting costs of the wands have been revised, they now require alchemy bars.
Each wand has elements that it can conjure easier (simplified minigame)

Other (QOL)
Living Myth
- Living Myth now has a much higher interaction range (to avoid getting stuck)
- Spawning optimization


Black fog
- Black Fog will now activate via "E


Haunted Chests
- Unique Haunted Chests (Ocean & Land) are no longer round-limited
- Every 50 turns there is a guaranteed Unique Item in a Unique Haunted Chest (Ocean & Land).
- Haunted Chests (Ocean, Sunken & Land) can only be looted by the Company (or an Allied Company) that has activated the Chest
- Spawning optimization (Land Haunted Chest)


Workbenches
- New optics for: Tannery, Loom, Stone Workingstation, Wood Workingstation, Ethernal Forge


Kraken V3
- HP of the Kraken is now dependent on the amount of participating ships, so it is also possible for smaller groups to fight this bossfight.
- General adjustments to the new "meta


Cooking
- Cooking Oil now requires only 2 seeds

Razortooth
- Auto Courage Mode fixed (GS bug)

Treeplots
- Max fertilizer quantity increased to x

Crow
- Bonuses of the buff is no longer capped at 130

Parrot
- Bonuses of the buff is no longer capped at level 130
- Fortitude Buff: 0.138/level increased to 0.55/level

Rabbit
- Bonuses of the buff is now dependent on the birth level
- Min Stamina for Speed Boost becomes less with increasing level

Otter
- Oxygen consumption reduced by 90%

Bat
- Aggro range against wild animals is reduced with increasing level

Housing
- Int Buff is now 30%

Global Buffs
- Ship Speed corrected (was too high)
- Ship Reload Speed corrected (was too high)
- Ship Repair Speed corrected
- Int buff is now x15% (counts only on leveled stat, not additive bonuses)

Treeplot
- Inventory increased: 10 -> 18

Magic
- Waterball weakens fire elementals for 20 seconds

Ballista Submarine
- Control of the side guns now no longer inverted
- Ballista damage now scales with blueprints
- Damage of the side guns now scale with blueprints
- Side guns use Spear Bolts as ammunition
- Now has the weight of the original Submarine
- Now replaces the normal Submarine and is buildable after the Kraken V1
- Now has the cost of the original Submarine
- Can take max 1000 dmg (no more ohnehits)

Storage Chest
- Can now be placed on cargo saddles

Catapults
- Placement on carts possible again

Primitive Stable
- Now no longer costs an Artifact Key but 1500 Mythos

Bola
- Can now be stored and stacked in AmmunitionStorage

Explosive Barrels
- Can now be stored and stacked in AmmunitionStorage

Yetis
- Can now benefit from the Natures Cry buff

Crabs
- Now takes "normal damage" from instant damage sources (pistol, rifle, puckle)

Pirates / Navy / Buccaneers
- Fleets of ships are now more random and intermixed
- Buccaneers now have a bus
-> the buss fishes the ocean and collects fish over time
-> the Buss flees from you, you sink it, you can loot it at the Fishing Attachment and get the caught fish, some bait and a blueprint for a Fishing Attachment

PvP Only

Berry hat
- Farm berries
- Requires 4 NPCs and Fuel
- Can only be placed in PvP on a claimed island (own property)

- Available again

Bugfixes (from last season)

Lava Cave
- Fixed a bug where players were stuck at the cannon when the boss died
- 3x Fall Damage is now always displayed correctly

Nassau
- Taverns Vendor responsive again

Damage bug
- Fixed the bug that structures with higher quality take less damage (GS bug)

Changed settings

- Radius in which structures block the resource respawn halved

Changed grid

- PvP regions completely revised
- Defective island in E5 replaced
- Defective Powerstone island in B3 replaced by another one
